Cisco 3560 advanced ip services image

Published on by dellpe

Question:

Bought a WS-C3560X-24P-L poe and its currently running base ip services.

c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44

Decided to download the latest version of Advanced ip services since its needed for Ccnp switch which ill be starting soon.

Problem is i cant find the the advanced ip services in the latest release section. 12.2.55 Se8 ?

All i see there is IP base and Ip services.

Was "advanced ip services" image replaced by "ip services" image ?

Answer:

IP Base: Includes basic routing (Routing Information Protocol [RIP], static routing, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol [EIGRP] Stub, Protocol Independent Multicast [PIM] Stub), Layer 2 capabilities, manageability, security, IPv6 host support, and quality of service (QoS)

IP Services: Adds advanced IP routing (Open Shortest Path First [OSPF], EIGRP, Border Gateway Protocol [BGP], PIM), Cisco TrustSec® security (MacSec, Secure Group Tagging(SGT), SGT Exchange Protocol (SXP), and Security Association Protocal (SAP)), Control and Monitoring Processor (CMP), and Web Cache Communication Protocol (WCCP)

Advanced IP Services: Adds advanced IPv4 and IPv6 features, Secure Group Access Control Lists (SGACLs), Layer 3 VPN, and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)

Advance IP Services ended its life after 12.2.50 and later releases:

The functionality currently available in the Cisco Catalyst 3750-E IOS Advanced IP Services feature set switch is now available in the Cisco IOS 12.2(50)SE IP Base and IP Services feature sets. This reduces complexity by not requiring customers to upgrade software to utilize advanced IPv6 features.
